Destination Augusta is on a mission to see Augusta become a region utilizing this authentic mode of transportation to create a unique experience in our city by providing shuttling capabilities, reducing emissions and traffic, and cultivating and environment of FUN as visitors and locals traverse downtown.
In 2018, the City of Augusta enacted an ordinance allowing for Personal Transportation Vehicles (PTV’s) to be operated in downtown Augusta. With minimum safety requirements on the cart and an official permit from the City, a business or a resident may operate a golf cart in downtown. The permit is only $15 and is good for 5 years. Destination Augusta is driving this initiative with the FUNKY BUGGY we branded to draw attention to Augusta & Co., the experience center for Augusta. We encourage you to follow our lead and get your own golf cart and come along for the ride.
For businesses, branding a golf cart can draw-in additional customers, create brand awareness, and become an employee appreciation tool - allowing employees to drive the vehicle for lunch, errands, or after-hours events. Our Funky Buggy
Our golf cart was built locally in Augusta, Georgia by Textron Specialized Vehicles. The design for the vehicle wrap was created by the team at Wier/Stewart, and the artwork was produced and installed by Keen Signs.
