What is National Travel and Tourism Week?
National Travel and Tourism Week (NTTW), organized by U.S. Travel Association, celebrates the impact of travel on our economy, workforce, and quality of life. In Augusta, we take this time to recognize the people, places, and partnerships that make our destination shine. From our small business owners and hospitality professionals to our cultural institutions and outdoor adventures—travel matters here in the Fell Good City.
Why Tourism Matters
Tourism supports local jobs, drives economic growth, and brings vibrancy to our city. In 2024 alone, tourism generated $854 million in visitor spending and 26,400 jobs supported, highlighting Augusta as a key player in Georgia’s travel economy. "Destination Augusta remains committed to fostering tourism growth, supporting our community, and creating unforgettable experiences," said Bennish Brown, President & CEO of Destination Augusta.
