Augusta Saturday Market at the River
Do you want to enjoy the outdoors while learning about the unique artisanry Augusta has to offer? Then the Augusta Saturday Market at the River is for you. While at the Market known as the Saturday Market to locals you can enjoy scenic views of the Savannah River and experience the charm of the Soul City while you browse the unique products created by our locals. The market is located in the 8th Street Plaza that intersects with Reynolds Street. Come join us from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. every Saturday this summer. You will always find something new at the Augusta Saturday Market at the River!
Phinizy Center & Nature Park
Calling all nature lovers! Looking for a relaxing walk or the chance to spot some of Augusta’s unique wildlife, look no further. Phinizy Center & Nature Park is open every day for you to enjoy its trails and boardwalks. Phinizy is home to the Blue Heron, Red-Shouldered Hawk, River Otter, Alligators, and lots of other wildlife. You won’t want to miss your chance to see these beautiful animals in their natural habitat. Phinizy has a Nature Center that is open from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Get the family together and experience Augusta’s great outdoors at Phinizy.
Savannah Rapids Park
The Savannah Rapids Park is a must-see in Augusta this summer. the Park is home to the Historic Augusta Canal Headgates. At the park, you can see the beautiful Reed Creek Falls flowing into the Augusta Canal. The park features multiple walking paths for you and the family to enjoy. If you are looking for a unique place to bike or run the park starts the 7.5-mile trail that leads to downtown Augusta along the Canal. Savannah Rapids Kayak Rental is conveniently located in the park providing kayak rentals and charters perfect for exploring the Canal.
Augusta Riverwalk
Augusta is a city of rich history and beautiful landscapes, enjoy both as you talk a walk down the Augusta Riverwalk On the lower level of the riverwalk, you will enjoy scenic views of the Savannah River as well as a playground for your family to enjoy. Take a trip up to the upper level of the riverwalk and explore the history of Augusta as you find Interpretive plaques about Augusta’s history. If you are looking to learn more about Augusta's history stop by the Morris Museum of Art or the Augusta Museum of History both located right off the riverwalk. (Admission fees required at museums) Come out and enjoy the views and don’t forget to bring your pets!
Augusta Common
If you are looking for a place to sit and enjoy the sunshine this summer Augusta has just the place for you. Get your group together, pack a picnic, and enjoy it in the Augusta Common. The Common is a multipurpose green space in the Soul City. It is located in the heart of the city and the perfect place to come enjoy lunch or take a break from sightseeing. Just steps away from the common is the famous James Brown statue and many local businesses waiting to be explored.
5th Street Pedestrian Bridge
Augusta’s newly renovated 5th Street Pedestrian Bridge is the perfect place for you and your family to soak up the sunshine this summer. The bridge offers activities for all ages. Visitors can enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi, charging stations, benches, and artistic shading. There are water fountains located at the bridge for you and your pets, so make sure to bring your furry friends. Kids will have a blast enjoying the music, spin wheels, and mazes that the bridge offers.
