Calling all History Buffs! The Augusta Museum of History has a 12,000-year journey through the past of Augusta's River Region. The museum was founded in 1937 and is dedicated to showcasing the long history of our region through signature and online exhibitions that span two floors of the museum.
Fun Fact: The Augusta Museum of History is Augusta's only accredited museum; one of only twenty in the state.

The first floor of the museum is full of signature exhibits that will take you on an exciting journey through the past. See exhibits ranging from the first inhabitants to transportation.

The Augusta Museum of History offers much more than your standard walk around a building. The museum also has great programs and events perfect for families and groups. A few fan favorites are The Museum Express and Gingerbread Village.
