Art
Caricature Classes with Xavier: Draw your friends or family like you really see them. Work with well-known Southern artist, Xavier, to put pencil to paper and draw lasting memories.
Corks and Canvas or Beans and Brushes: Sip on your favorite wine or locally roasted coffee while you create an artistic masterpiece. We’ll help you pick an art space and a professional artist will come with supplies in hand to guide you step by step.
Pottery Classes: Put on a smock, throw your fingers into some Georgia clay, and fire up your own handcrafted piece of pottery. If that’s a little too messy, decorate your own face jug or paint your own pre-thrown pottery. Either way, the staff at Tire City Potters will make sure you leave with genuine Augusta pottery.
Culinary
Buona Caffe Pour-Overs: Sit and relax while the staff provides samples of their freshly roasted, duty free coffee. Leave with the best caffeine rush you have ever had!
Cupcake Decorating: If you have a sweet tooth you are sure to love this activity. Get sticky decorating your own cupcakes or cake pops using their sweet supplies. This is a great activity for children.
Fort Gordon Dinner Theatre: If your group is meeting during a scheduled performance this is a must see. Experience the best in entertainment from Broadway, to comedies, to dramas. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll eat...maybe simultaneously.
La Bonbonniere Chocolate Classes: Your group can participate in a class handcrafting the finest Belgian chocolates using the freshest ingredients.
History
Behind the Scenes Tour: There is more than meets the eye at the Augusta Museum of History. Let one of the Museum’s expert guides take you on a sneak peak of the collections, exhibitions, and the extraordinary things that happen behind the scenes.
James Brown Exhibit Guided Tours: Get on the Good Foot at the first exhibit dedicated to the Godfather of Soul, Mr. Dynamite, James Brown. Tours are led by Mr. Brown’s daughter. Listen as she shares stories of her father’s legacy to music and to the city of Augusta.
Trolley Tours of Augusta: Climb aboard the Lady Liberty and get ready to explore Augusta. Several tours are available and can be customized just for your group. Some examples are African American Tours, Historical Tours, Ghost Tours, and Golf Tours. The trolley can also be rented for special events like pub-crawls, family reunions, weddings and more.
Outdoor
Guided Boat Tours: Guided boat tours of both the Augusta Canal and the Savannah River can be arranged for your group. Sit back, relax and allow experienced tour guides to tell Augusta’s story in a unique setting. Story time has never been this interesting. Groups can enjoy a customized tour and have the boats all to themselves!
Horseback Riding: If you have a passion for saddles, hooves and long, pretty manes, mount an energetic and responsive horse and enjoy the spectacular scenery during a guided trail ride. Great for beginners and people of all ages.
Canoe or Kayak Augusta: If your group enjoys the water, canoeing or kayaking is a popular outdoor activity in Augusta. Try the Augusta Canal, or the more experienced boater may want to paddle the Savannah River.
Sports
Augusta GreenJackets Baseball: There’s no better place for your family, company or organization to host a group outing than at a GreenJackets game at the SRP Park at Riverside Village in North Augusta.
Golf Augusta: Instead of sitting on the sidelines, play the game! Gather your buddies “fore” a round of golf or disc golf. We can also arrange lessons from some local experts who know a trick or two.
