Summer is here and all this beautiful sunny weather has made for some berry special, tasty fun. In light of National Blueberry Month, we are sharing all the authentic experiences of Augusta’s River Region with a blueberry twist.
I Pick one, U-Pick one
In light of social distancing, right now is the best time to get out, away from crowds and pick your own local produce. Grab the kiddos and plan a family field trip to Blue House Farm, or Herb n Berries U-Pick Blueberry Farm, for some much-needed family fun. They’ve got everything you need, buckets and all.
Minus the picking?
If you’re not up for the picking, but still want to celebrate National Blueberry Month with your favorites, you can find fresh blueberries and other blueberry products at Good Earth Produce & Garden Center, our local farmer’s market.
Cooking with the Blues
We’re sure that having all those fresh picked berries on hand will have you wanting to flex your culinary muscles, and we’ve got you covered with the perfect recipe. Be sure to add Very Vera’s Blueberry Crisp to the menu for dessert, topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
This One’s for the Grown Folk
Augusta is all about good vibes and spirits. Yeah, those kind! We are sharing one of our favorite summer drinks, a Sparkling Blueberry Lemonade. Be sure to grab your vodka from our local distillery, 2nd City Distilling Co.
