Miru: Hope Full Soul: Don't miss the chance to see a collection of new artwork by Staci Swider celebrating Miru’s adventures at the edge of his pond at the Westobou Gallery. The exhibit is up through September 2nd.
Victorian Augusta: The Augusta Museum of History celebrates the opening of their new exhibit, Augusta, 1875-1900 with Victorian games and crafts, hors d'oeuvres and drinks. The exhibit explores the life of Augustans in the late Victorian era.
History on Tap: Head over to the Aiken Brewing Co. for a night of sordid history and craft brews. Vern Huffstetler will lead the evening for a night of "Pick Your Poison, A Show and Tell about South Carolina Poison Bottles."
The World of Rolland Golden (Exhibition Opening Reception): Learn about the life and vibrant art of Rolland Golden and be the first to view the exhibition of his works at the Morris Museum of Art.
Augusta Literary Festival: Themes & Conflict Workshop: Aspiring writers can hone their skills at the Augusta Literary Festival's monthly novel writing workshops. August's session is Themes & Conflict.
Bark in the Park: Bring your furry best friend for a night of baseball and fun at the Augusta Greenjackets home game.
Movies on the Common: A picnic blanket and a few snacks is all you need to enjoy a free family friendly movie under the stars at the Augusta Common.
August 19th - 21st
2nd Annual Black Cat Picture Show: This international film festival brings almost two dozen films made in seven countries to downtown Augusta for a full weekend.
National Honey Bee Day: Phinizy Swamp hosts a pollination celebration for National Honey Bee Day! In addition to information on the little pollinators, local bee keepers will have honey for tasting. There will also be face painting, crafts and games and live music for the entire family to enjoy.
Augusta Beerfest: The largest celebration of craft brews in Augusta's River Region is back with more than 20 of the Southeast's best craft brew companies.
The Big Float: Register your kayak, canoe, inner tube or homemade raft and spend the day cooling off in the Savannah River. After the float, stick around for BBQ, SweetWater brews and live music.
Soiree: Jazz, Wine & JamSession: Garden City Jazz hosts this monthly gathering for wine and music lovers. In August, special guest Eric Hillman plays the music of Miles Davis. The Eric Shaw Trio also presents a JamSession.
