This year we beefed up the servicing for reunions. They were offered another activity that is unique to our city, instead of a standard tour they were given another way to see the city. “The Amazing Race of Augusta” brought them to places that they may not have visited on their own. The race started at the Visitor Information Center and continued on to Pyramid Music , the James Brown Statute, Gallery on the Row, Springfield Village Park, the Jessye Norman Amphitheater, Ft. Discovery, Fat Man’s Café on the River, and the Augusta Common. It was really nice to see the red t-shirts of the Chavous Family Reunion running all around downtown. It was a great Saturday morning activity. I already have other families that want to incorporate the Amazing Race of Augusta into their Reunion.
