Pedal Through the Past: Canal Bike Tour
Saturday April 19, 2014
Bring your bike and enjoy a ride along the canal towpath with an experienced Augusta Canal tour guide. You’ll learn a bit about the history, engineering and natural surroundings that make the Augusta Canal a National Heritage Area.
The ride on the upper canal, from the headgates to I-20, you’ll discovery how the Fall Line location of the Savannah River enabled Augusta to build a hydropower canal and enjoy the natural beauty of the tree-lined towpath.
Rides last about 30 to 45 minutes, one way. Bring your own bike and helmet.
